A five year project: Our IBM software branding approach is based on a vision to integrate corporate interests with societal and ecological concerns while allowing distinct brands to combine into an integrated offering. The conception of a "brand mosaic" was at the heart of our creative strategy. It refers to past techniques, such as quilts and mosaics but also to the contemporary forms of farm patches, urban landscapes and screen pixels. The brand mosaic provides a framework for coordinating the colors, graphics and images that characterize each brand, and it reinforces fundamental IBM software brand attributes—modular, flexible and adaptable.
